2005年には、イエス・キリストご自身こそが教会の中心であることを再確認し、教会の再編を行いました。私たちの教会には、世界の様々な国々から言葉や年齢、生い立ちの異なった人々が集っています。賛美も日本語と英語で歌い、説教も日英両語で行われています。教会のスタッフもバイリンガルです。

About Us

In 2005 we went through a rebuilding period that refocused us on Christ as the center of all we teach and do. We have always been blessed with a wide variety of people in our church community from different countries, languages, ages and backgrounds. We sing praise songs and hymns in English and Japanese. The sermons are in Japanese (only) twice a month and translated from English to Japanese twice a month. The staff is also bilingual.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT ON A TYPICAL SUNDAY? Who should come and what should you wear? All are welcomed! If you are not yet a follower of Jesus Christ, no problem! We would love to meet you. Dress however you feel comfortable; however, most people dress very casually. We sing a mixture of hymns and contemporary praise songs, with emphases on the latter. The children sit in the service until the sermon then they go to Sunday school.  After service we have a fellowship time with tea/coffee and snacks. The last Sunday of every month we have a potluck lunch after service (but guests should not bring anything).

私たちは、イエス・キリストの体である教会は、単に建物や日曜日の礼拝だけではなく、イエス様を信じる者たちが、共に集い、礼拝を捧げ、信仰を成長させ、それぞれの能力や賜物を用いて神様に奉仕をする場所であると信じています。私たちは、イエス様を中心としたダイナミックな共同体づくりを目指し、私たちの住む世界や地域、そして周囲の人々への伝道に励んでいます。私たちは、エペソ人への手紙4章11－13節に書かれているような聖書的な教会づくりを目指しています。「こうして、キリストご自身が、ある人を使徒、ある人を預言者、ある人を伝道者、ある人を牧師また教師として、お立てになったのです。それは、聖徒たちを整えて奉仕の働きをさせ、キリストの体を建て上げるためであり、ついに、私たちがみな、信仰の一致と神の御子に関する知識の一致とに達し、完全なおとなになって、キリストの満ち満ちた身たけにまで達するためです。」 私たちは、聖書は全て、聖霊の導きによって書かれた偽りのない神の言葉であると信じます。イエスは神の御子であり、人の姿をとってこの世に来られました。そして、ご自身は罪を犯されませんでしたが、私たちの罪の為に十字架にかけられ、3日目に復活されました。復活されたイエス様は、天に昇られる前に弟子たちの前で500人以上の人々によって目撃されました。 救いはイエス・キリストを通してのみもたらされます。イエス・キリストを通しての罪の赦しがなければ、人間は永遠に神から離され、地獄へと葬られてしまいます。ローマ人への手紙6章23節には、「罪から来る報酬は死です。しかし、神の下さる賜物は、わたしたちの主キリスト・イエスにある永遠のいのちです」とはっきりと記されています。 イエス様が天に上げあれる直前に、弟子たちに「わたしには天においても、地においても、いっさいの権威が与えられています。それゆえ、あなたがたは行って、あらゆる国の人々を弟子としなさい。そして、父、子、聖霊の御名によってバプテスマを授け、また、わたしがあなたがたに命じておいたすべてのことを守るように、彼らを教えなさい。見よ。わたしは、世の終わりまで、いつも、あなたがたとともにます」（マタイによる福音書28章18－20節）と言われました。私たちも以下に挙げる5つの目的（聖書の御言葉に基づく）を行うことを通して、この大宣教命令を実行しています。
  1. 礼拝：日々個人として、またグループとして
  2. 弟子訓練：小グループ、１対１、日曜学校
  3. 奉仕：教会の内外で
  4. 証し：地域と世界に向けて
  5. 共同体：キリストを中心とした、開かれた温かい交わり
これらの目的は、私たちが常に御言葉に基づき、イエス・キリストを中心とした信仰者の共同体でありつづけるための指針であり、教会の全ての活動を導くものです。 日曜日の教会に対してどんなイメージをお持ちですか？（よくある疑問） 教会にはどのような人々が来るべきで、何を着てくるべきなのか？→どなたでも歓迎です。もし、イエス・キリストをまだ救い主として信じていらっしゃらない方でも、大丈夫です。ぜひ教会にお越しください。どのような服装でも構いませんが、教会のほとんどの皆さんは普段着で来ています。 私たちは、聖歌と今流行っている賛美の歌を礼拝で歌っています。礼拝では、説教の前までは全員で礼拝を捧げ、説教の時間になると子どもたちは日曜学校で聖書を学びます。礼拝後は、お茶を飲んだりお菓子を食べたりしながら交わりの時を持っていますが、毎月最後の日曜日には、ポットラックの昼食会を行っています。

What We Believe

We believe that the church, the body of Christ, is much more than a building or a Sunday meeting; it is a place where followers of Jesus can come and worship, grow in their faith, and serve God with their abilities and gifts. We strive to be a Christ-centered community that impacts our world, community and the people around us.  Ephesians 4:11-13 is a great general definition of a Biblical church that we try to fulfill.

 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

We believe that the Bible, from beginning to end, is the inerrant, Holy Spirit inspired word of God.  We believe in the Trinity, God in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Jesus is God and the Son of God. He came to earth as a man, lived a life free of sin, was crucified and rose on the third day. He was seen by more than five hundred people before he ascended back into heaven in the presence of His disciples. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone. Without receiving forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ, man is hopelessly lost and separated from God and will spend eternity in hell.

The Bible, in Romans 6:23, tells us clearly, For the result of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Just before Jesus returned to heaven he told His disciples,  All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matt 28:18 -20).  Therefor, we see one of our primary goals as a church is to make disciples that make disciples that make disciples that...

We aim to do this through the following 5 purposes that we feel run throughout scripture:
  1. Worship: daily personal worship and group 
  2. Discipleship: small group, one-on-one, Bible study
  3. Service: in and outside of the church
  4. Evangelism: local and world
  5. Community: Christ-centered, open, warm fellowship
These purposes act as guide posts to direct and keep us on track in our desire to be a Scripture based, Christ-centered community of Believers. They guide us in all we do.
